Barb & MR ULTIMATE DREAM aka Sonny
2007 ApHC, ABRA, IBHA Dun Gelding
I had to make hard decision, due to I ended up with ankle problems that wouldn't ease up, in March, 2008, after going home from our first show debut at the March, 2008 Heart America Buckskin Horse Association show. I decided to put Sonny up for sale. I didn't feel it was fair for him to stay in his pen and not be worked. A decision I really didn't want to make, but I felt it was the best, mainly for Sonny.
I posted in the Buckskin group I'm in, online, that I had him for sale. In less than a week, he was sold.
I did show Sonny in the Heart of America Bucksin Horse Association, March, 2008 show. Stan Patton (trainer) of Monett, MO, fit and trained Sonny for his Yearling Halter class. He did show Sonny for me the first day of the show.
The second day of the show I did show Sonny. He behaved real well for me, nothing spooked him, he was so well behaved, and did real good at the show.
Barb was the ringmaster, and she gave me many compliments on him. She really liked him.
Once I announced Sonny was for sale, I had two people contact me, but Barb was more than willing to pay the price I was asking for him. When she came to see him, she wanted him instantly. She loves him, and is enjoying working with him and showing him.
Their first show, was so excited, due to Sonny got a Reserve Champion in ABRA Geldings. Barb and I was on Cloud nine the rest of the day. We were so surprised, and couldn't be happier. What an awesome start they both had together. I was so glad I was a able to watch Barb show him.
Barb does update me on how she and Sonny does at the shows, and I'm hoping 2009 is another great year for them. I'm so happy Sonny is at a show home. Makes it so much easier for me, knowing he's going to be shown, and with as laid back as he is, Barb also plans to ride on trails.
Right now, Sonny is going through a growing spurt, he's going to be a huge horse. Barb is like me, short. She'll need a ladder to get on, but he's so mellow, it makes it well worth it.
Congratulations to Barb and MR ULTIMATE DREAM for their 2008 Heart of America Buckskin Horse Association Year End Award!! What a great start you two had in 2008!! Hope 2009 is even better for you both!!! It's great to see babies I've bred go on and succeed in the arena!!!!
